Traditional cable cariers have jointed links of finite pitch which form a polygon in the radius. Operation causes vibrations which result in noise. QUANTUMS chain bands are made of extruded PP and form a circular run. The so-called "Polygon effect" is so smooth with QUANTUM that it simply ceases to be a consideration. Furthermore the materials, with their high degree of self-damping and the optimum design of the profile and the curved notches mean that a previously unknown minimisation of noise emissions can be achieved.
